Gold Futures---Gold futures in the December contract settled last Friday in New York at 1,304 an ounce while currently trading at 1,285 down about $20 for the week continuing its flip-flop trend as I am advising clients to avoid this commodity at the present time as it remains extremely choppy and I think that will continue for the rest of 2017.

Soybean Prices Continue To Chop Around

in Blog, commodity consulting, commodity trading, corn, futures, Mike Seery, oats, option trading, seeryfutures, soybean meal, soybean oil, soybeans, wheat

Soybean Futures--- Soybean futures in the November contract settled last Friday in Chicago at 10.00 while currently trading around 9.78 down about $0.22 for the trading week as I have been recommending a bullish position for over a month from around the 9.85 level as prices continue to go nowhere just like many of the other commodity sectors which has been frustrating in 2017 as we are lacking trends.

Corn Prices Look To Head Lower

in Blog, commodity consulting, commodity trading, corn, futures, Mike Seery, oats, option trading, seeryfutures, soybean meal, soybean oil, soybeans, wheat

Corn Futures--- Corn futures in the December contract are continuing their slow grinding bearish momentum to the downside settling last Friday in Chicago at 3.52 while trading at 3.45 & if we close at that level that would be a closing contract low & if you decide to take a short position place the stop loss above the 10 day high standing at 3.54 as the risk would be $450 per contract plus slippage and commission.

Crude Oil Remains Trendless

in Blog, commodity consulting, commodity trading, crude oil futures, futures trading, heating oil futures, natural gas futures, option trading, seeryfutures, unleaded gasoline futures

Crude Oil Futures--- Crude oil futures in the December contract are down $0.10 currently trading at 51.42 a barrel & after settling last Friday at 51.73 basically unchanged for the trading week as the energy sector is experiencing extremely low volatility with absolutely no trend just like many of the other commodity sectors at the present time as I can't remember the last time these markets were this boring.

Soybean Oil Futures--- Soybean oil futures in the December contract are higher by 42 points currently trading at 33.83 as I have not talked about this commodity in quite some time as I'm looking at a possible bullish position to the upside if prices close above 34.29 while then placing the stop loss at the 10 day low of 32.85 risking around $1,000 plus slippage & commission, however at this point I'm sitting on the sidelines waiting for the breako

Soymeal Chart Structure Is Excellent

in Blog, commodity consulting, commodity trading, corn, futures, Mike Seery, oats, option trading, seeryfutures, soybean meal, soybean oil, soybeans, wheat

Soybean Meal Futures--- Soybean meal futures in the December contract are unchanged this Thursday afternoon in Chicago as the volatility in the grain market & many of the commodity sectors across the board have come to a crawl as I don't see this lasting much longer as harvest should be wrapped up in the next several weeks sending volatility back into this market.

S&P 500 Futures--- The S&P 500 in the December contract is trading higher for the 4th consecutive trading session continuing its remarkable bullish momentum & if you have read any of my previous blogs I'm extremely bullish the stock market as I think this will continue throughout 2017 & if your long a futures contract the chart structure is outstanding at the present time as now the 10 day low stands at 2539 as this is the strongest trend out of a

Soybean Futures--- Soybean futures in the November contract are unchanged this Wednesday afternoon in Chicago currently trading at 9.85 in a very quiet trading session as I've recommended a bullish position from right at this level for over a month as prices are stuck in the mud at the current time.

How Can You Use Moving Averages To Your Advantage? A simple moving average is calculated by adding the closing price of a commodity such as crude oil for a number of time periods and then dividing this total by the number of time periods.

Short-term averages respond quickly to changes in the price of the underlying commodity, while long-term averages are slower to react.
