Coffee Futures--- Coffee futures traded in a very quiet range today finishing up around 200 points settling at 180.65 in the May contract still stuck in a tight trading range of 175 – 190 for the last four weeks looking for new fundamental news to break out of this range. Many commodities in the last couple of weeks especially the softs commodities have been hitting new contract lows including coffee due to the fact of concerns about a tremendous slowdown in Europe and in China also causing the S&P 500 to come off recent highs as well. Coffee is going into the frost season which generally is in the month of May and June and I suspect there will be some weather premium in prices headed into those months.
